Art Director at Learning A-Z

Learning A-Z is a PreK-6 literacy ed-tech company based in Tucson, AZ. When I first came on, I was the first (and only) designer in the marketing department, and by the time I left, I was managing the corporate brand as well as a small remote team of internal and freelance designers.

Design & Brand Improvements

One of the first major projects I worked on was the corporate rebrand that launched in 2016. Building upon the agency work, I redesigned our collateral, event graphics, email templates, and everything in between. In early 2017 our team won a Bronze Addy award for our newly redesigned website.

Art Direction

As Art Director, I worked with internal departments (multimedia, professional development, engineering) to ensure our customer-facing deliverables were on brand. I worked onsite to art direct photoshoots with the multimedia team, designed storyboards for marketing videos, and developed the Learning A-Z brand guidelines.

Campaigns

Every year we had two significant campaigns, Teacher Appreciation Week and Back-to-School. I would develop the concepts for those large-scale campaigns and create all deliverables for the first five years I worked there.

In my final year, we expanded our initiatives with a couple of extensive campaigns centered around highlighting our products and creating new planning tools and resources for teachers to utilize in their lesson planning.

In 2020 we kicked off the launch of the Science Discovery Museum, an interactive platform where teachers could tour a sampling of Science A-Z resources. My design team created all of the downloadable guides, planning tools, and promotions.

Web Initiatives

I worked on several UX projects for the website, like the blog redesign and the remote learning microsite. I also built our internal site for communications between the marketing and sales department. One of my last projects at Learning A-Z was creating the logo and concept for their first virtual conference, CONNECT.
